Enjoy A True Lakefront
Vacation
At Norfork Lakefront House it's an easy stroll to the lake which is 50 yards
away. Walk across the smooth, flat yard to swim, fish, or boat. A southwestern exposure
grants gorgeous sunsets across the lake year around that you'll enjoy from inside the
living room, on one of the two decks, or as you walk the shoreline.
Enjoy norfork lake sunsets from both decks. This
deck is off the living room.
Booking / Request Information
The house is at the end of a paved road in a safe neighborhood where
you can walk comfortably night or day. You can walk to a marina, a picnic park with
playground equipment, a public swimming beach, and several excellent places to bank fish.
The marina rents boats, WaveRunners, and watersports equipment. The
marina store sells snacks, basic sundries, marine accessories, bait, and fuel. If you
bring your own boat you can rent a slip and use the hard surfaced public launch ramp with
courtesy dock.

What There Is To Do
No doubt about it, watersports are the main attraction at Norfork Lakefront House. But
there are non watersport activities within an hour's drive or less.
Lake Fishing - You can
fish from shore, rent a boat to fish from, or go fishing with a guide who will meet you at
the house. We'll help you arrange guided fishing trips. Largemouth, smallmouth, spotted,
white and striped bass are the main sportfish. Crappie, walleye, and catfish are also very
popular lake sportfish species.
Trout Fishing - Catch
rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and brook trout all in the same day in the same river - the
North Fork River, which is a 35 minute drive. Rent river boats, wade and bank fish, or go
trout fishing with a guide.
Swimming - Within walking distance from the house is a public swimming area.
You can also rent a pontoon boat and cruise to a quiet secluded cove for a swimming
adventure.
WaveRunners - The
marina rents WaveRunners so all you need do is walk over and hop aboard!
Watersports - Tubing,
water skiing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, and just boating the lake are all
common with our guests on this part of Norfork Lake. Bring your own boat, or rent one at
the marina.
Golf - In Mountain
Home you'll find two 18 hole golf courses. One has made the Golf Digest 5 Star rating
twice. The 5-Star rating is given to only 16 courses in America once every two years.
Dining - Within a 15
to 30 minute drive are several good restaurants ranging from locally owned Mom & POPs,
to fast food, to chain restaurants. Most serve beer and wine.
Shopping - When the
men go fishing the women go shopping at several area craft, gift, book, antique, and
collectable stores, as well as a Wal-Mart Super Center, Lowes, and Home Depot.
Entertainment -
Bowling, movie theaters, miniature golf, a driving range, and occasional live
entertainment are all found in Mountain Home 20 to 30 minutes away.
Nature - Horseback
riding and canoeing are available nearby. If you wish to go birding, exploring, hunting,
mountain biking, or for a day hike, you are in luck. Across the lake from Norfork
Lakefront House is a large Wildlife Management Area open to the public. The Ozark National
Forest, which is 35 minutes away, has several hiking trails.
Day Trips - One of the
best ways to enjoy Ozark Scenery is to plan a day trip. There are several destinations
allowing you to leave in the morning, take in a scenic drive, stop for meals,
entertainment or attraction visits, then return by early evening. Plan your trip right
(we'll help) and you can take in several attractions in a day. For example, plan a trip to
the Ozark Folk Center, which is about 90 minutes away. On the way you can enjoy seeing
huge rainbow trout at the Norfork National Fish Hatchery, Norfork Dam, the Wolf House (the
oldest house in Arkansas, a fascinating log cabin), and the amazingly spacious caves at
Blanchard Springs Caverns. Then you can spend a couple hours touring the Folk Center! Ask
us about other day trips.
